Radios are indispensable tools for many experts. For anyone working in environments with explosive gases, flammable dust or in mining, safety plays an extremely important role.

The DMR handheld radio PD715 Ex from Hytera guarantees reliable communication in these kinds of explosive areas thanks to its outstanding robustness and intrinsic safety. In addition, it meets the European ATEX directives, FM standards and IEC standards.

The handheld radio PD715 Ex meets the requirements of the European ATEX directive, the IEC guidelines as well as the North American FM standard. Furthermore, the device meets the US military standard MIL-STD-810C/D/E/F/G and is dust-proof and waterproof in accordance with the degree of protection IP67.

As such, the PD715 Ex is exceptionally suited for the secure and reliable operation in potentially hazardous and particularly harsh environments.

      Fail-safe design

Using batteries or accessory components with an insufficient level of protection automatically triggers an alarm so that malfunctions of this type cannot occur.

      Plastic encapsulation

Both the radio itself and the battery are encapsulated in plastic in order to connect the internal circuits and to prevent the penetration of liquids, dust and harmful gases.

      Innovative battery latch

The patented latch on the battery ensures that the battery cannot fall out should the radio be dropped on a hard surface.

      Integrated GPS as standard

Using the integrated GPS module, the PD715 Ex can send location information to dispatcher systems. Dispatchers can evaluate this information and use functions such as geofencing, radio localization and GPS tracking.

      Upgradeable firmware

Having upgradeable firmware makes it possible to enhance the system with new features. Changing the firmware-software enables other digital and analog operating modes to be integrated without having to purchase a new radio.

      ATEX certification

All radios used in potentially explosive areas must comply with the European Union's ATEX directives. The PD715 Ex meets the Ex ib protection standard for intrinsic safety in accordance with the ATEX directives, and can therefore be used in hazard zones 1 and 2.

      Over the Air Encryption

The over-the-air encryption function encrypts the signaling on the air interface. All subscribers need the relevant access rights to take part in the radio communication. This means that call setup is encrypted, the system is protected against unauthorized access and connection data cannot be tapped.
